The Van Eyck has several workshops for technical experiment in a range of materials and media – like wood, metals, printing, publishing, photography, audio, video. These facilities are constantly adjusted to the demand of the participants and the latest technological developments.
The Labs are the research workplaces for the use of participants, external artists and guests. They bear the names of significant historical contributors to the culture of the region at large. The word “lab” emphasizes the inquiring and experimental mindset. Thinking and action find their meeting place here.
Staff members offer support and expertise pertaining to the artistic consequences of the use of various materials and techniques. The Van Eyck collaborates with other institutes with regard to the use of complementary facilities.
External professionals are welcome to make use of the facilities and expertise of the worshops on a project basis. For more information and availability, please contact the relevant Lab by e-mail.
